Your information

Privacy, thoughtfully.

Photographs you share

When you submit a look, we store your processed image, any description or optional name you provide, the time of submission and your consent choices. Your image is private until The Archivist Styles approves it. An approved image and caption are public; your name is only shown with your permission. Please avoid including sensitive information in images or captions.

Storage and removal

Images and submission records are stored using the website’s Sites hosting database and file storage. Images are decoded, resized and re-encoded to remove embedded camera metadata. We do not retain the original uploaded file. Pending or rejected submissions remain private until the owner deletes them. Published images remain available until removed.

To withdraw permission or request removal, email thearchiviststyles@gmail.com with your submission reference or enough detail to identify the photograph. Public images may already have been saved by visitors.

Exchange submissions

When you send a piece for review, we store your account identifier, contact name and email, piece details, processed photographs, permission confirmation, review status and timestamps. The website owner can record private review notes. Submission photographs are available only to the signed-in submitter and the owner; they are not automatically published in the catalogue. We use your contact details to discuss that submission.

You can withdraw a submission from the Exchange page. Withdrawal stops the review but retains its records and photographs. For deletion, contact thearchiviststyles@gmail.com with your reference. No automatic deletion schedule is currently configured. Please do not include sensitive personal details in your photographs.

Your saved looks

Things I Covet uses ChatGPT sign-in. We store your account identifier, the looks you choose, your moodboard names and when you save them in the website database. Your collection is shown only to your signed-in account. Removing a saved look deletes that saved-item record. Moodboards keep their own selections until you remove the look from the board or delete the board. Deleting a moodboard removes its name and selections. Your name or email may be displayed to you while signed in; this feature does not copy them into the saved-look records. Contact thearchiviststyles@gmail.com if you need help removing your saved records.

Website security

The owner area uses ChatGPT sign-in. The hosting service supplies the signed-in account identity to check owner access. Client uploads do not require an account or an email address. To limit upload abuse, a daily hash of the connection’s IP address is counted and expires after one day. The site does not store the raw IP address in its submission records. Hosting providers may separately process technical request data to deliver and protect the service.

Email and external links

Email enquiries open your own email service. The site does not send them on your behalf. If Instagram or TikTok links are added, those services apply their own privacy practices when you visit them. No advertising trackers are used.

Website visit counting

We keep daily totals of public page views and estimated arrivals, grouped by page and a broad source such as Instagram, TikTok or search. The counter does not use analytics cookies, browser storage, visitor identifiers or fingerprinting. It does not store IP addresses, account details, full referring addresses or search terms. It records totals rather than identifying individual people. Totals are retained to show traffic trends and are visible only to the website owner.

Signed-in owner activity, private account pages and recognised automated traffic are excluded. The counter also honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Hosting providers may separately process technical request information to deliver and secure the website.

Backups

The owner can export content, image records and consent information for a private backup. Any downloaded backups must be kept securely, including when an image is removed from the website.
