The Exchange is rediscovery. The Atelier is discovery.
The Forever Piece Exchange gives remarkable pieces their next chapter. The Atelier introduces you to the brands, designers and makers behind your next discovery.
Here are the names we return to, the people we recommend and the pieces we build wardrobes around. Established favourites sit alongside independent labels and makers we think you’ll be very pleased to meet.
Our address book, opened.
“There are a few people I think your wardrobe should meet.”
— Amelia
GOOD TASTE KEEPS GOOD COMPANY
A beautifully cut jacket can introduce you to a designer you’ll wear for years.
A pair of earrings can become the thing you reach for before every dinner. A maker you discover while searching for one particular piece can become someone you return to again and again.
That is the pleasure behind The Atelier.
We bring together trusted favourites and new discoveries, with an eye for the cut, character and detail that make clothes worth knowing.
Some names you’ll recognise. Others may be the reason you’re glad you came.
THE COMPANY WE KEEP
Every House in The Atelier has been selected by The Archivist Styles.
Our recommendations begin with the clothes and the people behind them: their point of view, their workmanship, the way a piece falls, feels or transforms an outfit.
We’ll tell you what caught our eye — and why we think it deserves yours.
It might be a distinctive approach to bridal. Tailoring with a wonderful sense of proportion. Jewellery you can recognise across a room. A small collection with a very clear idea of who it is.
Together, these Houses make up an address book we’re delighted to share.
BEHIND EVERY HOUSE
Step inside a House and get to know it.
Meet the brand, discover its story and explore the pieces we’ve selected. Alongside its own introduction, you’ll find our perspective through recommendations, styling observations and Amelia’s notes.
Where a House appears in our Lookbook, you can see its pieces at work — styled, combined and brought into a complete look.
And where there is a story worth lingering over, we’ll make room for it.
The person behind the label.
The detail inside the cuff.
The reason we chose that particular piece.
AMELIA RECOMMENDS
Sometimes you know exactly what you’re looking for.
Sometimes you need someone to say, “Try this.”
Amelia Recommends is our edit within the edit: the pieces we’d draw your attention to first, with thoughts on how to wear them and what makes them interesting.
The jacket with the right shoulder. The dress that needs very little else. The unexpected colour that brings something you already own back to life.
“Yes, that one. Look at the cut.”
— Amelia

You might arrive for a dress and leave with a new favourite label.
